Today's Recipe - Apple Ice Cream Sauce
Southern Living
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
3/4 cup water
21 oz can apple pie filling
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)
Combine first 8 ingredients in a large saucepan; stir well. Cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally. Add vanilla and nuts; stir well. Serve warm over ice cream. Yield: 3 1/2 cups.
